looking for somewhat cheap RFID reader

I am looking for something with a SPI or SCI interface that I can use with an embedded microcontroller.

I found some from texas instruments, but they cost like $300 each. Do there exist any RFID readers that cost less than $50 that I can interface with a microcontroller?
