I am looking to get 2 pieces of rubber to build a custom HDD rack for my current project. They need to be 1" x 6" x 14" each. I am not sure where I would go about getting these, so if anyone has an idea plesae LMK!

Here is a simple drawing of what im looking to do:

Good luck in finding that exactly... I did a google search and found one place that has it in close to the thickness you want. You'd need to double it up (since it's up to 1/2" thick) and buy a lot more than you want. I don't know if it will handle the heat from the drives too well either, it might not. Give them a call/email/whatever. If they don't have it, maybe they can point you in the correct direction. Of course, YOU could have found the same info via google... http://www.alasco.com/flooring.htm

make sure you get an extended warranty on all those drives that you'll kill from the static.

The static problem is not too likely but to be sure I would get or make grounding straps for each drive. To drain off, the static generated from disk rotataion needs a true earth ground to the drive case. True the cases these days are probably grounded thru the negative power leads, but it doesn't hurt to provide an alternate path.

thanks for all the replys. Im looking into that stuff linked in the first reply. Seems like it might be too plyable. Grounding the drives was always a must, just didn't put it in my shady diagram. :p
