Ahoy!
Title says it ^
She generally enjoys JPRGs and platformers, and tends to stray away from shooters, though there are no hard lines. We play Hearthstone together. She grew up on the PS1, and recently picked up Spyro 2 to beat again. Leaning toward getting her something singleplayer, though multiplayer games aren't out of the question. Deep/long games are a plus.
She enjoyed Valkyria Chronicles on PS3 and doesn't have a copy anymore. I'm tempted to pick it up on Steam, but it would be a replay. She'd enjoy it, but something new to her is probably a better idea.
She tried OLD final fantasy games and didn't much care for the combat system, though lately she has enjoyed games that to my eye seem pretty similar (Tales of?). Some careful hinting around it suggested she might be willing to try them again as her tastes have changed, but it doesn't seem a 100% safe choice. Final Fantasy XIII and is on my "possibly" list.
Heard great things about Binding of Isaac.
Never played RayMan myself, but IGN gave the recent ones great reviews and it seems to have a lot of elements she might enjoy.
Child of Light looks like something she'd enjoy a lot, but I get the impression it's kinda short. Might pair it with something else.
The Sims 4 is probably a safe choice but since she has played 1, 2 and 3, I doubt it would be "exciting".
Years ago, she loved Grim Fandango. Broken Age looks promising as it has the same director. Anyone tried it?
She's coming to enjoy Blizzard games pretty well so Diablo III is a possibility. I already have a copy but haven't touched it since shortly after its release.
Anandtech PC Gaming, lend me your opinions.
