I'm looking for some suggestions. We were initially going to go to Bahamas since we've never been there, however after some concern from others that it's the rainy season at the time we are going, we aren't sure if we want to go.

We're also somewhat looking at Bermuda or possibly Barbados (not sure if that is in the hurricane belt or not, will do more research).

We want to go to some place that is tropical that we can actually go out and do activities and have some fun in the night life. we don't want to just sit around 24/7 and be at a beach drinking alcohol. We like to get out and do stuff.

I've already been to Aruba so I don't think we want to go there and would prefer to go somewhere new. Our budget pretty much is like $3K for hotel + flight for a non-all inclusive place.

If you have any suggestions please leave them, thanks.

We're on the east coast in MD also, if you were considering prices of flights.

I'm going to Tahiti/Bora Bora for mine...

Actually a decent place to look is www.vrbo.com

You can usually find some real steals there on condos/homes/apartments you can rent on pretty much any continent, island etc in the world.

Costa Rica would work. Unfortunately, if you're worried about rainy season (a.k.a. "green season" in tourism dept. lingo), that may rule out many spots in LatAm and the Caribbean.

Be aware that Sept. is Hurricane season for the Caribbean. Your honeymoon is pretty important, so I would be very aware that plans could change quickly because of that. We have had vacations cancelled because of hurricanes. Perhaps South America or South Pacific?

Well, they could do somewhere like Trinidad and Tobago, which are generally considered out of the hurricane belt. Of course, if there's a tropical storm brewing up in the Caribbean, that's going to screw up air travel all over the place.

St. Augustine (or Sanibel/Captiva, etc) wouldn't help with the potential hurricane issue. OP, have you considered Coronado Island in California, across the bay from San Diego?

The Keweenaw Peninsula is gorgeous that time of year. Storms usually don't hit until November.

Aruba/Curacao. Just off South America.

EDIT: Oh, I see you've been to Aruba.

Curacao has a heavy Dutch feel to it.

OP, are you flexible on the "tropical" criteria? If so, that opens up lots of other options.

Not sure what I can recoomend. It seems most places will be in a rainy season during that time. We're going to Aruba in October for our honeymoon. We didnt have many options because of the weather conditions.

yea aruba is badass i loved that place and somewhat wanna go back there for our honeymoon.

another thing though is it's not guaranteed to be rainy/hurricane when you go, but that risk is there and yea, it would suck ass to go and be in a rainy place your entire honeymoon.
