I know the old adage of buy made in japan dvd r's. I have a concession coupon from dell and want to buy some good quality dvd r's that will last a while. I was looking around on their website and found these

VERBATIM CORPORATION
DVD+R, 4.7GB, 8X, DataLifePlus (50-Pack Spindle)

anyone know if this is worth using up my coupon for? thanks for any suggestions!

ps: I mainly use DVD's for home movies and regular movies but would like anything I copy over to a dvd r to be there for a long time.

people have been reporting that verbatim is using ritek discs in addition to their traditionally good mcc discs. :(

Unsure the sad face of dc, but Ritek's are one of the best made DVD media in the market.

ritek's are decent at best imho.

but it seems like there's quality problems lately with different manufacturers. these particular disks could be great for all i know. :)
