Looking for some good spanish music....

I don't know how to speak Spanish (or very little) but Im in the process of learning. Slowly. In the meantime Im looking for some good spanish music to kinda just get used to hearing it. Typically I like techno/hip-hop type of music. However anything catchy will suffice for this. I suppose the beats are the most important. Whatever you think is good? 🙂

SPANISH spanish? Or just general latin american music?

Do a search for Reggaeton if you want something resembling hip-hop. Mostly Puerto Rican. Daddy Yankee, Hector y Tito, Don Omar, Luney Tunes, Wisin y Yandel...

Unless you have a good grasp of the language, you won't be able to pick out much more than the female chorus though. 😛

Search Alejandro Sanz (spain's biggest pop star), Shakira (spanish only pls), Luis Miguel (mexicos sinatra), Juanes, Eros Ramazzotti (italian but sings in spanish too), Mana (mexicos u2).

Those are probably the names recognized by all of latin america.

cafe tacuba, jaguares, juanes, and jumbo to start.

those are popular pop/rock bands that will get you used to the style. Ther are other groups, but if you are getting into it you should probably start with those.

Other less-mainstream stuff would be Mana, Compay Segundo, Alex Cuba band, elefante, estopa, soda stereo, los lobos, cavas, Bersuit Vergarabat etc...
