I found these at office max:

These will be going on my secondary system.
Are they decent and could anybody recommend any better?

Well, you can't get any cheaper than free so I guess you should buy them. As long as you're only looking for speakers one step higher on the food chain than your system speaker...What are you going to use them for?

At least spring for garbage speakers with an amp in them, or just buy headphones

I have Logitech Z-340's and they are amazing for $36 speakers.

They arent free, but they will be 1000x better than the ones you are looking at :D

We're talking onboard AC 97 audio..be used just to hear system noises and to play some old PC games. Is the Benden worth springing for for 10 bucks on Amazon? and there is a guy selling some speakers on yahoo auctions for 9 bucks shipped..would it be worth paying 10 more?

I did not want to spend much..but I don't want to get crap for free either..

Just wanted some basic speakers, so how crappy are these?

I agree, I bought those for my son for his computer for $29 after a rebate. Plenty loud.
