Looking for some advice on a build

My computer is starting to show its age (just over 3 years old now) and I decided it's time to build a new one, but I haven't paid attention to any hardware progression for at least 2-3 years so I'm fairly clueless on where things stand. Rather than doing tons of research on my own, I figured it would be easier to see what you guys think.

I probably wouldn't be ordering parts for another 3 weeks and I already have a 19" LCD, WindowsXP Pro, mouse/keyboard, speakers.

So, I guess the bulk of the money would be going towards the CPU/Mobo/RAM/Video Card. The rig would be used for gaming occasionally. I do already have an 80gb hard drive I could throw in there but if I can fit a bigger one into the budget that would be nice also. My case and PSU would probably also be salvageable, but it wouldn't feel like a new computer if I was looking at this old case so I'd prefer to scrap them also.

On one last note, if any particular PSU/CPU HSF or video card fan run particularly loud I'd like to avoid them. I ended up replacing the HSF on my CPU on my last build because it sounded like a hair dryer. I don't consider myself THAT picky but I know some people could care less about the noise as long as it performs.

TIA

What is the main purpose of the computer? This will decide what you should increase spending the money on.

What PSU do you have? If it's a decent one you won't need to spend the money for a new PSU.
