Looking for 'small' 'cheap' audio mixer

episodic

Lifer
I want to bring the audio from a dynamic microphone (not a condenser) into my mac mini.

Ideally, I'd like the mixer to be as low cost as possible.

I was looking at this as a solution. If you can find better for around the same price, I'd love to know - or if you have any comments.

I have a mac mini, so I'll need a usb interface as the mac mini does not have a line out jack. I was looking at the behringer model there too for about $30.00

The reason I want a dynamic mic specifically is the the cartoid effect that it really only pics up sounds near the microphone. I'm recording in a room with humming from air conditioners, etc and would love if the mic did not pic that up.

Thanks, I'm really new in this area - so suggest away.

BTW, I know that this mixer only has one xlr input - however, that is all I'll ever need - 1 microphone in that is.

Thanks!

Phantom power is not needed for any dynamic mics.
Behringer sucks big old balls, but at least it works...for a few months...maybe.
Hyper cardioid pickup pattern would be even better for you, as even cardioid pattern mics will pick up stray noises - But, not as much as a sensitive condenser mic - so dynamic is good for you. Also, keep in mind that sounds reflect off of objects and end up in strange places. That's all I can tell you.. 😉
