I have searched for awhile and i have not been able to find a sleep timer that would turn my monitor off after a certaint time. I use XP to run my system I can find plenty of stuff to shutdown my computer but i don't want that.

I found a plug for Windows Media Center but couldn't get it to work for XP. Help Please

I am sorry i should have said more. When i am watching a tv show or movie i was wondering if there was a way to start a sleep timer in Media player, or Cyberlink powerdvd or some other video player that has a sleep timer to engage the screensaver or turn off the monitor.

When a video player is running it disables the screensaver and also disables the ablity for the computer to turn off the monitor.

Actually wrote a program to do this the other day, grab it here:

Program written in c#, will need .net framework.
Very minimalist, you give it a time, and hit set.
When the timer elapses, it turns off the monitor and mutes the main audio mixer. If you choose, it will also close a specified program. Hope this helps

Your are the Man thank you that is what i have been looking for!!! Is there anyway to use remote wonder software with your program.

So that when i hit a button on my remote it can a) start your program and B) work like a regular button on a tv remote to where the more i hit the button it cycles though the time like 15,30,45,60,90, then off.

That might not be possible just a thought. Thanks once agian.
