Looking for simple dv controller software

I am looking for a simple program that will control an 8mm VCR from the computer via a firewire connection. I know windows movie maker does this, but I am looking for something much more simple since we use another program for capturing (Digital Rapids). The ideal situation would be that this program would run in the background and I could macro keys to start, stop, rewind, fastforward,etc.... (start would be F9, stop would be F10 and so forth). Thanks.
 
Anyone help me out???? 🙁

Seems like a simple enough program but I cant find one that just operates the deck like a vcr, every one is tied to a capturing utility.
