OK, this is a longshot, but I figure this is the place to ask. I'm looking for two "shorts", short films that I do not know the names of. I saw both of them many years ago (may have been as long as 20 years ago). Best I can do is give a description of what I remember.
The first one was, I believe, done in another country, Russia, Romania, maybe Germany. It was stop motion, and used real stuffed animals. If I remember correctly, the main character was a platypus. The story involved some kind of "thing" that threatened everything and these animals had to fight it. The "thing" was like a mass of stuff, kind of just a glob of trash and stuff but it moved. The animals fought with it, some of them were consumed by it, but they won in the end. Sounds kind of weird, but it's hard to describe.
The second one had live elements and some stop motion, it involved a man trying to do something (can't remember what) and he was being chased by stuff. I think I remember scissors and lizards. It was very trippy, kind of reminded me of Terry Gilliam's "Time Bandits", I think there were black doors like in that movie. I think I saw this on "WHT", which came out in my area before Cable, so I'm thinking this was around 1983 or so.
