Looking for shoe advice...

Orsorum

Lifer
So, I'm in the midst of looking for a few new pairs of shoes. Currently, I need shoes for:

- wearing with khakis - not dress shoes, necessarily, but nice enough to wear on a date, but durable and comfortable enough to walk a couple of miles a day in (around campus), probably dark brown.
- maybe a nice pair to wear with dress slacks after school/work, so maybe a pair of loafers?

Would I be showing my mental age by wearing loafers? Is that out of fashion now?

Thanks for any advice/anecdotes that can be offered.

Cheers!
Nate

I'm seeking to replace the pair I got in September of 2002, the sole of one shoe split clean down the middle width-wise.

Loafers=no
Look for Rockports or the dressier Timberlands. You should be able to find something that meets your needs and both are comfortable.

Why no loafers? 🙁

Loafers make me think of two things.
1. My old dad going to work.
2. 80's frat boys with gold chains, no socks, and their shirt partially unbuttoned getting into
the ugliest corvette ever made (84).

Tha Tims. Dirty from working but just a small bit of polish away from being presentable with khakis. They are super comfortable and go with jeans also. Docs are a good suggestion too.
