I would like to install a simple secondary browser on my system. There are some pages that do not render well or even freeze in IE 7.

I would like this browser to be a single executable file. It should also support Flash and Javascript, as these are the things that often cause problem with IE.

At this point, I don't want to install Firefox or Opera, browsers that will write everywhere in the Registry and want to become the default browser. I only want a light alternative to try when IE doesn't work properly on a given web page.

Suggestions?

Install Firefox Portable... get it at portableapps.com

Most people install it on portable media, but I see no reason why you can install it on your harddrive as well. AFAIK, it does not leave registry entries.

Bingo! :D Thanks a lot bleuiko.

Exactly what I needed. I just installed it in My Documents on my work computer, on which everything is locked down so it is impossible to write to the Registry or even change many default settings in IE.

Firefox Portable works perfectly. I tried it with two web sites that keep freezing in IE, and they load and run without a hitch. The thing seems also faster than IE.
