Looking for SAS Hard Drive Testing Program

I have several HP SAS drives and was unable to find a diagnostic program to test them with is there anyone who might know of a good one to use?

All the manufactures have test tools for SAS drives on their website. You must have the drive directly on the SAS network however and not as part a of RAID in most cases.

I looked the drive up on hp.com but did not see any diagnostic program to test them.

HP includes the diagnostics on the server Diagnostic cd. I think they call it smartstart or something like that. (I dont use HP in the enterprise). Also HP doesn't make harddrives, they just slap their label on them. Find the "HP DISK BY SEGATE" or whatever is normally in like 4 point font on the label and use that manufacturers tools.

the smartarray controllers scrub the drives after 3-15 seconds of idle continuosly to look for and remap errors.

@Emulex I did not know that. Thank you. It seems you might be able to help me with another question that involves an hp 410i smartarray controller. When I go to make a two drive raid 1 in the setup menu it only allows me to create a raid 1+0 there is no raid 1 option is there something I am doing wrong with that?
