Looking for recommendations on a "lower end" laser printer.

I need to pick up a laser printer in the $300-$450 range. Just B&W, but must be reliable and somewhat fast.
Also would be nice if it is a model that can be purchased locally like at BestBuy, OM,OD ect......

Any insight would be great.

Thanks................

Yeat another vote for the Samsung laser printers, if I recall correctly, they have a lower cost per page than the low-end HP units, hope this helps 🙂

I like my samsung ML-1430 it's only about 200 bucks.
course the ML 1450 and ML 1650 are 300 and 400, respectively and can be had at microcenter.
See here.

On that page, you will also see Brother, according to the reviews I would stay away from them.

I used to have an old Okidata laser printer (4w series) that I was very satisfied with. I know they have several low-end laser printers, but the 4w is the only one that I have used.

Ahhh.... Okidata 4w.... I think I'd bought it for less than $120 when it was first introduced 4~5 years ago (it was the best bargain-the cheapest for a laser printer back then). When the drum died last year, I had no other choice but to throw it away 'cause the drum costed more than a new printer. However, when it worked, it worked very well and it occupied very little desk space.

It was a bargain laser printer, that's for sure. The clips on my paper tray eventually broke and super glue didn't do the trick.

A whopping 4 pages per minute....I don't know if I could handle the speed even now.... 🙂
