Looking for recommendations for a video player

I looking to replace KMP. Lately it has been putting out video and audio artifacts. Can anyone please recommend a replacement?

Thanks
Siddhartha

I noticed that VLC doesn't play midi files out-of-the-box for me in Windows, so I used WMP. I read somewhere that you need to download a Soundfont, maybe I'll try that later tonight.

VLC used to be #1 with me for a long time, recently I've had some issues, nothing too major, but MPC-HC is what use mostly these days. Maybe it has to do with the 64 bit operating system, I don't know. I also use PotPlayer for screen grabs and making GIFs. So; MPC-HC, VLC, PotPlayer. I use Foobar 2000 for my audio playback but never tried it for video, I'll have to check it out.
