My company is going to need a large format scanner real soon, with a minimum size of 24" width. I'm not sure of the budget. But we're not above buying a used one to save money. These are some of the factors that I have considered as necessary:
Scanner minimum specs
1. 24" min. scan width
2. Scan software included, not extra, & WinXP compatible
3. USB or Firewire interface, SCSI or Printer port as a last resort
4. 400 dpi min. w/ higher optional
5. Low cost maintenance/Replacement parts
6. Black & white only
7. Stand included
8. Anything else I forgot
I know this is generally a computer related forum. But hopefully some of you can provide some helpful input. And any suggestions are appreciated.
