Having a bit more luck with some semi-custom settings in the OSD + using NV CPL to change mainly the gamma and adding digital vibrance. I've been able to drop the brightness down yet get good color saturation without the heavy bloom from stock settings. Need to work on text a bit more (maybe I just need a bold font or different default font and I'll be happy).

At least now gaming is very good, better than the Samsung. In 2D the Dell isn't quite as sharp, but is better now. The AG really isn't bad, I don't know what all the fuss is about. It's not glossy, but not horrible. If the 2413 is better, it must be pretty much a semi-gloss coating by comparison.

Just a final follow-up. Re-did the Clear-type wizard and now text is fine. Grays are a bit washed out, but otherwise everything is A-OK considering the price. I do miss the wider color gamut, but I'll live for now.

While very spacious, this panel does make me miss my old Sony CRTs a bit more than I did with the Samsung. When progress isn't completely progressive I guess (though a CRT this size and aspect ratio would well be over $1K for sure, probably weigh close to 40 kilos and take up half the depth of my desk).
