looking for recomendations on a new machine

I'm looking to build a new machine for digital imaging.

I'm going to reuse most of the parts from my other machine (i.e. cd burner, hard drives, KB/Mouse)

Any recomendations on mobo, cpu, memory and video card?

What is your budget? What hard drives do you have?

budget is flexable (1000-1200 i guess would be good)

dual maxtor 40 gig 7200 (thinking about getting rid of these for something better)

BTW case is a compaq EN deskpro and power supply is from the same.

What are the specs of the old computer? You probably need a new power supply so a new case will be in order. For digital imaging (especially high quality images) you need lots of memory and cpu power.
