Hello, I currently have an Afterglow wireless headset connected to an Audioengine D1, and I was wondering if I should upgrade. I got a PS3 I can connect the Afterglow to, and since some friends of mine have wanted me to start gaming on the PS3, which lead to the question, should I upgrade my PC headset or buy a second Afterglow?
I have tried the AKG Q701 due to a recommendation and absolutely hated it; I think I needed a stronger amp, the headband hurt after a short period of time and it had absolutely no bass whatsoever, the playback and headband together leaving me with a headache very quickly. I have a sneaking suspicion the person who recommended it to me wanted it for himself, as I loaned it to him and never got it back...
But I digress. The three modes on the Afterglow are in my opinion amazing, but the only issue I have with the headset is 1. battery life isn't amazing (Not a problem as I mostly play with it plugged in) and 2. There is a tone I hear especially on the green (Immersive Audio) that I've been told is due to the receiver's proximity to my power supply.
Any opinions or suggestions on any possible upgrades, or if I should just buy another one for use with my PS3?
