Hey, just pulled out the SNES. I'm looking for Earthbound and Secret of Mana. Now these are pretty popular as far as RPGs go and Earthbound is almost impossible to find at any B&M store.

I was wondering if anyone knew of good sources online or possibly places I could look locally for these types of games. I looked pretty thoroughly online and the best I've found is Secret of mana for $26 at a local Gamestop and Earthbound for $35 at Half.com.

I've found a few on eGay but i'm trying stay away from it if I can. If anyone has these are knows where I could find them, I'd appreciate it.

(BTW, I forgot how much fun the SNES was...) Thanks.

UPDATE! Found a copy of each from people here on AT. I love you guys. You made my day!

Yea, i know. I'd rather be able to play it on my SNES when the comp is being hogged though. :(

I'd really like the cartridge...i'm nostalgic like that.

I have a couple of copies of Earthbound, and my friend has Secret of Mana, but he puts his stuff on ebay.
That is probably the best place to find this stuff since it's so old. Either that or go to a pawn shop and look for one til you find it.

Edit: They're re-releasing most of these old games for the GBA. It's easy now since the GBA has more power than the SNES (about as much as the original PSX). If you wanted, you could always get the new GBA Super Game Boy adapter for the Gamecube and hook it up to your tv while playing it with the Gamecube controller, but unfortunately it's not due to come out til next spring.

Think you'd be willing to part with one of your copies of Earthbound for a price better than previously posted? :D

I love having the cartridges too. I just wish they weren't so darn hard to find.

I wouldnt buy RPGs for SNES anymore, theyre best played on emulators. All those little save batterys are more than likely dead or dying. They say theyre supposed to last 5 years, usually last a little longer, but its going to be harder and harder to find a good one, which is probably why they cost so damn much.

You my friend have excelent taste in RPGs
Secret of Mana and Earth Bound have to be 2 of the best RPGs ever. I happen to have a Secret of Mana cart and I've been looking around for an Earthbound cart, but I don't really want to pay 20 bucks for one.

Warning - Warezing is a bannable offense.

Not sure how ROMS fit into that, but I'm sure it's a similar level of ball-busting.

Hehe I could be tempted. I would have to find them first. They're in the closet of hell right now.

Oh, and to the guy who said the batteries were either dead or dying, you can always replace the batteries. My friend has the tool to take the cartridge apart and clean it or replace batteries (also used on the consoles too).

Oh, I don't know about the battery thing. I have Legend of Zelda game from 95 that still has games saved. Oh, and my Crono Trigger game (circa 1992) still has my lvl 92 game on it. So bite me. Give me cartridges or give me death!!

But if you have the games then its perfectly legitimate to have the emulator+roms. Anyway, the emulators themselves are not "illegal". All the emulator makers always seperate themselves from the roms. I just wish I could remember the SNES emu that is good. Its been years since I had it but even back then it worked great.

Ive got the Secret of Mana cartridge....i play it emu'd though. I just don't feel like dragging out the carts and system out to plug it up. Ive got all my cart games as downloaded roms' though. I like applying graphic filters to them to smooth out the jaggies. :D

I was " 'Nuff Said"'ing the game more than anything else :p

Yea, well...good news. I found someone willing to part with a BRAND NEW copy of Earthbound. So i'm happy. Now all I need is Secret of Mana and I'll be set until Christmas, GC and Metroid Prime.

If you like emulation, you could get an AMD 300-500 system for about $50 shipped in fs/ft and grab a video card with tv out and hook it to your TV.

I am not exactly sure how the emulation laws work anymore, but I remember playing emulated N64 on my AMD 300 with a voodoo2 and Velocity 4400 in college. My floor was so psyched when the N64 emulator came out. I had one of the 2 computers in Watterson that were powerful enough to play it :p
