Looking for nVidia equivalancy in ATI land (to run F@H GPU client)

My Socket 939 Neo4-F is having problems with the onboard sound module, and when I
slap in a Sound Blaster Audigy or Sound Blaster Live!, it just locks up, so I'm going to
"upgrade" to an Asus M2N-E with an X2 3800 (from an Opteron 148 currently). Oh yeah, I do Folding@Home.

My current GPU is an nVidia 6600GT, and I was wondering what out there in ATI land would be pretty similar in performance. I'm thinking about ATI, since I can get an extra folding boost by using ATI, and using the GPU client.....

Thanks.

The 6600gt is very slow, a X1600pro will be able to match it basically perfectly but those aren't produced anymore. Closest you can get now would be the

X1650GT

Which for all intents and purposes is a X1600pro that uses less power
X1600pro compared to the 6600GT:

Though for less $, you can get a HD2600pro that will blow the X1650GT out of the water

If you're willing to outlay $90 though, you can get 3x the performance

ATI: The Radeon GPU version of the Folding@Home client (used in combination with Catalyst 6.10 and a Radeon X1900/X1950 product) is 20-40 times faster than the CPU Folding@Home client, and the score you receive for completing a GPU work unit is currently 6 times greater than CPU work unit.

Also, it says something about only the x1900/1950 series are supported though it is old news so it may have changed...
I just want to remind everyone that in order to run the GPU version of the Folding@Home client you need a Radeon X1950 or Radeon X1900 product, Catalyst 6.10, and Stanford?s Folding@Home GPU client.

Pretty sure only the X1900/x1950 are supported with the F@H client currently, the 8.3 drivers due out today add support for all cards all the way up to 3xxx for F@H however the GPU client itself isnt due to be updated until sometime in march to support these new GPU's. It's up to you, might aswell try and find a cheap X1900 today and start folding.
