looking for non-photo printer

i need a new printer for college that connects using USB 2.0, but I don't need to print photos. i just need something to print fairly good text and is reliable. any ideas?
 
I'd go for a Canon i550 then. They're previous generation printers, being cleared of stock currently for real bargain prices.
 
You might consider a Samsung laser printer. They go on sale all the time. If inkjet is your preference, you can get the HP PSC 1200 for only $88 bucks at Sam's Club. Good back for your buck, and low profile for the dorm room/cramped apartment.

Actually, I don't think either of those are USB 2, but who cares? Why limit your selection?
