Looking for new software Firewall/Router OS/Setup

Been using M0n0Wall for longer than I can remember, but now I need something a little more robust.

My main problems with M0n0 at this point is reporting. I would like to see traffic by NAT user and also maybe do some site logging. I need realtime (or as close as possible) reports to tell me who is using what bandwidth and where it is going.

I could also really use connection blocking by IP/Port/Time. Example: 3 connections by 1 IP within 60 seconds per port.

I have looked at pfSense, doesn't seem to do reporting, but does do connection filtering. Untangle looks good and has a TON of really cool features, but the reporting isn't realtime (what's the point then...).

I really don't want to buy a full fledged appliance costing several hundreds of dollars. This is for a small office of about 50 users.

Any ideas out there, or opinions on Untangle/pfSense?

I don't know if Clarkconnect would fit the bill or not. It's been a few years since I've used it, but if I remember right, it had some good reporting tools and was perfect for our small company at the time (at least I thought so).

I'm not good enough with Linux to maintain a router with CLI only. Though I do know that everything I want can be done with a simple linux box and some NICs.
