Looking for new monitor suggestions

Got my new system up and running! Whoo! Now I just have to wait for a real video card (running a 7600gt I bought off a friend until some REAL 9 series cards come out), and decide on a couple of monitors.

This is definitely for gaming. However, I do watch movies on a regular basis. I'm looking for something in the $300 US range, give or take $25. I want to get'em from Best Buy, because I have $100 ($400?) in giftcards there. Also - most definitely want widescreen.

I read through a great deal of the sticky up above, but I couldn't really find anything that made me think "oh that's what I want." A big part of that was because most if not all of those panels aren't widescreen.

Thanks in advance! I love these forums =)

With that monitor (W2252TQ) I linked yesterday having gone on sale for $50 off (so saving $100 for the two!) since I first posted it, I think I'm going get that one.

However, for $20 more, there's another model L227WTG that looks like it has the same exact specs, just different dimensions. Same $50 off. Can anyone tell me why this monitor is more? Is it just the successor to the first model I was looking at?

Oh damn, I just did a search on the forums for that model, and it's currently listed as the #1 hardcore gaming monitor... well then. I see it's already made a name for itself around here.

Having said that, is there any reason in particular to get the more expensive one over the cheaper one? Like I said, the only difference I can see so far is the dimensions on the L227WTG are slightly more compact.
