While doing some system upgrades last night, I noticed that the fan on my MSI (?) 6600 PCIe card wasn't spinning. What can y'all recommend to replace it that still allows me to use the PCI slot that's adjacent to the card?
IMO anything you spend on a 6600 would be more than the card is even worth. my fan died on my 6600 after a couple years but my card had a warranty so they sent another one. next time buy a card from a decent company so it will have a decent warranty.
Strap a 40 - 80mm fan to it. Problem solved First remove the dead fan itself from the heatsink to maxamize the useable heatsink area for the new fan. It'll work better than the stock fan and if you already have a spare fan laying arround, it's a free fix
