Looking for new digicam

Yay i get a new camera ^^. Any excuse is a good excuse to get something new, esp if it broke. Anyways two main things i'm looking for is compactness, speed, and compact flash. I need to get one before my trip in August.

I really like the size of the T1, but its crap, crappy image quality, crappy LCD (its big but low res), what is this memory stick duo crap, and no viewfinder. But its so nice and decently fast, and has nice bursting modes. But the flaws just cannot be overlooked.

The new Dimage X31 looks really nice, dont' know when its coming out, but it seems to have super fast operation times. If they fix all the problems of the old X i just might overlook the CF card and get that if it comes out in time.

So far one i kinda like is the Canon S500. One of the few the CF and pretty thin though not Sony T1 thin. I played with it for a while, its ok, but kinda small LCD, and buttons seem hard to use. Generally it has most of the features i want, but playing with it i didn't seem to like the design somehow.

So what else should i look for as candidates?

If you think you'd be satisfied with a 3mp camera, you might look into the Canon A70 or A75. If you'd rather have a 4mp, you might try the A80. I don't think that any of those are uite as small as the S500 but they pack a lot of features for what you get.
