Looking for NAS w/ VPN solution

I usually don't take home office clients at my company, so I'm not quite up-to-date on current SOHO hardware on the market.

Client needs a VPN solution for a colleague to map a drive to his NAS. Colleague is currently using SMB over the net without encryption, mapping a drive to a Samba share on the NAS, and doesn't want to use any other way of accessing the share other than a mapped drive, so a VPN is basically what it has to be.

As he'd like a new NAS as well, I was wondering if anyone knows of a NAS with VPN built in. I don't want to skimp on the NAS, and I'll go with the router+VPN solution if there isn't much out there with NAS+VPN that looks like a solid product.

Was thinking about getting the Synology 209j as a product without VPN (currently on 106j), so if there is something out there with similar specs and VPN on-board that would be ideal.

If that's not happening, any thought's on a SOHO router with VPN? I'm not looking for a WRT/tomato solution, but something off the shelf that my client can manage on his own without calling us for every question. I'm looking for something more in line with Linksys prices, not Sonicwall prices.
