Looking for monitor suggestions

Rifter

Lifer
Time to upgrade the old 24" TN panel.

Looking for 1440p, IPS, under $900 CDN.

Any suggestions?

Main uses will be photo/video editing and gaming.

I went with a Dell U2515H. Mainly because it was onsale really cheap at dell.ca. $500 CDN shipped.

Ill let you guys know how it is when it arrives in a few weeks.

My Dell 2515H arrived today. First impressions are its amazing color accuracy, and sharpness. I cant believe i was editing photos on a cheap TN panel and not realizing how bad it actually was.... The blacks are also incredible.

Having this now side by side with my old TN i think im going to go back and re-edit alot of my photos.. lol

Looks good right out of the box after reducing the brightness to 35(was at 50) Very little backlight bleed as well i was worried about this i have seen many IPS panels with horrible bleed this one is great even on dark movies.

It has one stuck pixel, stuck red, its in the very bottom left of the screen and is only noticeable when you look for it otherwise i dont notice it. I guess thats one benefit of a 1440p 25" display the PPI is very high making stuck pixels very small and hard to notice.

Even though its only a 8 bit panel i would highly recommend this display for anyone looking for a lower cost monitor for photo work, the level of detail and the colors are much more real than the TN type panels.

About the only thing I use these days that is Dell is my monitor on the main.

They do monitors pretty well IMHO, have a widescreen IPS.

The one stuck pixel I do have is on the far left of the screen in dark grey, I don't even notice it unless I think about it really, it's on the edge.

Is just a older 2560 x 1080, but I've been happy with it a few years now.

Ive used dells at work before and i was not happy with the last Ultrasharp generations AR coating, it made colors look washed out to me, this has been remedied on the new panels the AR coating on my 2515H is great.
