Hello,

I'm looking for a upgrade on my video card. I have a dell demension 4300 with the small case. room is very limited and I need to find one that will fit in this case. It has an ati card now but I can't seem to find anything that will fit this small case and use the agp port. I've called dell tech support but after 45 minutes on the phone I get someone that can't speak very good english. He said he would email the list of video cards that would fit my pc but hasn't yet. I was hoping some has ran into this problem and knows what to do. any help on this matter would be great. I don't really want a pci version. thanks in advance and have a great weekend.

Here is a link to a thread in the Dell forums website where the same question was asked:

low profile AGP link

If you read through the thread, a member named "hatfldj" gave a link to a low profile MX460 that he found on Newegg. If you follow the link, it will be the first card of the 3 listed. Also, further in the thread, he explained how he "modded" the bracket to fit his case. I had tried helping another poster "4300SGUY" on another forum, and the best low profile card we could find were a couple of low profile Radeon 9000's. However, both of these cards were only available (for now) overseas in the Eastern Asian countries. Now, Powercolor did make a low profile 8500LE, but it is only listed on their Taiwanese website, not their American one. Here's a link to that product. Perhaps you can contact them through e-mail.

Here's a link to one of the low profile 9000's we found. It is also a Taiwanese website, but you may be able to contact them.

Or here is possibly another option, and certainly more attractive if you can make it work. Here's a link to a site where some guy (with some pics) describes your situation and says he used an AGP riser card to use a full size AGP card in a small form factor pc.

AGP riser card mod

And then a quick search on Google turned up this site in CA where you can purchase all kinds of AGP riser cards:

gimme that AGP riser!

There you go. Good luck.

Dang it all, if I'm not good
