looking for Laptop advice for Canada

So I live in Canada and want to buy a cheap laptop with some features to it. Futureshop had the TOSHIBA - Satellite A30-7JP Notebook for $1199, but sold out before I could pick one up. Now I'm looking for a comprable price and comprable notebook. Am I dreaming if I think I'll find a deal like that again? Anyone know of any sales coming up in Canada? I looked at Dell, but the shipping cost is ridiculous so they're out.. don't know why I can't simply go pick it up... oh well. Thoughts?
