I haven't heard them myself, but they get raved about on Head-Fi quite a bit. I guess I can't say they'll be great for gaming as I don't know what they specifically excel at, but I'd reason they're probably a solid choice.

Hence the reason I recommended them. They're very good, especially given the price.

I don't know how I missed your post. And I forgot there's a 900, for some reason I was thinking it was 500 and 700.

I enjoy my Sennheiser 555's for gaming and music. They feel comfortable to me.

That's pretty cool! I might have to try that sometime, although I don't use my microphone much any more.

pcslookout, I find my HD280pro to be perfectly comfortable. Sometimes I get some discomfort after wearing them for about 4-5 hours straight, but I would think that would be the case with any headphones. Anyways, as sdifox already mentioned, it's a good idea to try on headphones in advance. I took a risk and order the HD280pro without ever trying them on, and my situation could've been the same as yours.

There you go you admitted it. After about wearing them for about 4 to 5 hour straight you said you get some discomfort.

I never have that problem with my Denon D2000. Had them on for 10 hours + before with no discomfort.

After about a hour or two they started to hurt my head and give me a headache. Sorry but what is the point of having headphones if they are not comfortable to wear?

Anyways, there's nothing to say that I wouldn't experience the same very slight (i.e. "some") discomfort with a pair of Denon D2000. I wear my HD280 for 4-5 hours straight about twice per year, so it's a moot point for me.

You wouldn't experience the same very slight discomfort with a pair of Denon D2000 headphones. They don't only have sound quality in mine but comfort as a #1 priority as well. Comfort is so important when it comes to a good pair of headphones.

So, you're stating with absolute certainty that no one in the world would experience any amount of discomfort from wearing a pair of Denon D2000 for 4-5 hours straight?

I call shens.

No but if you like to put words in my mouth go ahead. Most people don't wear headphones for 10 hours straight without taking them off at least one time.

You stated that I wouldn't have the same discomfort as I have with the HD280 with the D2000. I have no discomfort for the first 4-5 hours, and then I have a very slight discomfort. Since you don't know me or what I look like, you saying, "You wouldn't experience the same very slight discomfort with a pair of Denon D2000" means that you think anyone in the world would not experience even very slight discomfort with a pair of Denon D2000 after listening to them for 4-5 hours.

i.e. I put no words in your mouth. I did, however, go back and change the statement from 10 hours to 4-5 hours.

No need to get so defensive over it. And I can almost guarantee that you wouldn't experience the same discomfort. The Denons are right up there near the top as far as most comfortable headphones, and the HD280s are about average (and depending on your ability to handle their clamping and the earpad materials can be far below average). I've plenty of people complain about comfort on the HD280s, I don't know that I've ever seen anyone complain about it on the Denons, in fact its generally the opposite with people saying they are ridiculously comfortable.

mmntech, the Grados aren't supposed to be very good for gaming, their strengths aren't really suited there. Other than that, they'd probably be near the top for recommendation around $70 or so.

Ugh, these aren't audiophile. They're way too colored in the midrange. Too forward. WAY too harsh. The bass extension is pretty bad, though admittedly tight/fast for what it has. They're "fun" headphones (for some), but hardly audiophile.

Funny, my JVC HA-RX700 phones run circles around the SR-60s for $35. They're a bit recessed in the treble area, but burn-in definitely helps. I've also done a very slight mod to them that brings out the mids and treble a bit. Couple them with a cheap Fiio amp ($7-17), and they sound fantastic, especially given the price.

Not to mention, they isolate much better and don't leak sound out (which annoys EVERYONE around).

I know some people LOVE the sound...but I don't think they're a safe blind purchase AT ALL. I listen to metal, so everyone says "you'll love these". Sure, they make the guitars and vocals sound good (plenty of attack), but they're missing the warm tones you also get with guitars. The bass guitars sound weak. Metal isn't all about guitars...

Doesn't bother me. If people can't handle internet forums they shouldn't be posting on them. No offense to anyone here. Not saying it to anyone just making a point.

I could care a less if you curse me out. Not saying you did.
