looking for Intel X25-V Datasheet and specs

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and this is my first post:$

I'm looking for some specs on the new lowend 40GB SSD from intel, X25-V.
I live in Israel and it is available to purchase here. And I see that some sellers in the US are offering it too (though I haven't contacted the US stores to check if they are in stock or on presale. the shop in Israel though confirmed that there are units for sale in Israel).

Anyway, I can't seem to find a single official or unofficial specs or review for the drive. I'm very interested in seeing how they match up against X25-M.

Thanks,
Idan

I didn't hear about any Intel 40gb drives, but the Kingston ones, which also happens to be part of their V-series, so are you sure you aren't confusing something?

I talked to a Kingston Rep today. He stated not only is Intel going to be releasing a 40GB version similar to the Kingston, but the price is going to be going up to the $160 range!!!

If you want in on this drive (from Kingston anyway)...BUY NOW!!!

i heard similar claims too, that's why I thought i'd try to find out some more about the intel ones, to see if there's any difference that justifies doubling the price tag

sadly, it sounds like they are seeing what the market will pay for this drive. Rightfully so, given that intel based SSD are hot shit

40 GB is pretty small and if you consider that 20% free space is recommended....if 32GB will do ya, go for it!

I've used 36GB Raptors and I'm sure it woulda worked with 32gb.

nope, no confusion:

and now it sells on a small number of shops, such as:

and also on Israeli online shops (hebrew link):

Seems weird they released it with no datasheet, though I expect performance to be close if not identical to the kingston ones, as they are also base on the same generation of intel chips (34nm)
Thanks, didn't know that. If I'd have to guess I'd say it's the same as the Kingston drives.. a G2 drive with only 5 channels and half the flash of a 80gb drive, but yes it's strange that there are no data sheets..
