Looking for Info regaurding case fan switch...

If i spliced in a switch to 1 or more of my case fans. would that posible cause complications due to turning the fan on/off wile the computer is still running?

and or has anyone here done this b4 and have any info to add about if everything is working fine, or if it caused complications?

im talking about splicing in a normal on/off switch, not a fans speed controler.

well, if you're gonna do it, run power from the power supply, not the mobo. it's more robust. cut the switch into the +12VDC, not ground or tach. i plug and unplug fans all the time, no damage here. your milage may vary.

You could always put a diode across each switch to damp any switching transients - I'm not sure about the sizing though.
