hi all,

For a department in my company i need about 8 computers. However, due to very limited desktop space, a normal pc with monitor setup will not fit. Now...i've been looking around and found some manufacturers:

http://www.oziq.com.au/
http://www.dfitech.com/products/touchscreen-panel-pc-series.shtm
http://www.xxodd.nl/producten/tftpc/xla570w/prodpage.php

They all look quite nice, but experiences from the past learned me that unknown brands often have unknown problems (if my HP pc fails i simply call and they replace the part of pc, or quickly find an answer on google).

My question: Does anyone know if any of the major brands sells these machines? I can't seem to find them, but perhaps i'm just not searching with the right keywords...

thx in advance!

I think sony makes/made some of those. Also, compaq has a model something like that, it might be a thin client.

Although we do have Citrix, we don't want to use thin clients (nor Citrix) for these workstations...

I couldnt find any HP (compaq) product that looks anything like the ones in the link above.

I'd suggest the Gateway Profile 6C over the iMac. You can find smaller-vendor products, though, such as those you mentioned above. Eurocom also makes all-in-ones. But I'd stick with the big cats at Gateway.

I'd be skeptical of Apple offering adequate tech support for Windows.

Maybe a silly question but why cant you just use laptops if space is a big issue?
As for integrated comps, I think Dell came out with something like that. I think Sony had a PC like that also but not sure if its available anymore.

I'm pretty sure Gateway is the only major-name company which presently manufactures PCs with integrated displays, though as mentioned above there are a few small-time vendors who do the same, and even a barebones you can build yourself. However, in my opinion the Gateway is the only one worth considering.
