The company that I work for does projects for other businesses and then hosts the finished project data on a secure FTP server for clients to download the data from. A new client of ours doesn't like the interface and would rather have a gui web portal environment that they can log into and see all of the files associated to a particular project and download what they want.

I would need the files to be sorted somehow by project. They have 3 different projects and the files for each project would be different. It needs to have good security and it needs to be able to be branded.

Does anyone have experience with a company that can do this for us? If you need more details let me know.

So you're basically looking for a web-based collaboration platform that allows file upload/retrieval?

Might I reccomend Sakai? I know that it's designed for educational systems, but I'm pretty sure it does everything you want.

EDIT: My university uses Sakai and it's good and pretty stable as far as I can tell. If you want to know more I can try and answer some questions.

Thanks, I'll check it out. Anyone else have any recommendations? It doesn't have to be free. We are willing to pay a monthly fee.

If your client is comfortable with the Microsoft Office interface, they may be interested in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site. It plugs into Office 2007 pretty seamlessly and offers all of the things you mentioned.
