Hey guys. About a year ago I decided to venture forth and create my own computer. While i was successful in my venture with alot of help from the guys here at AnandTech. I've run into a bit of a snag. I built my computer based on the AM3 Chipset. With high hopes that by the time i was ready to upgrade. That AMD would have something that could stand Toe-To-Toe with the beast that is Intel. But no dice. I have to switch over to Intel. Which i dont mind. So here is where im stuck. Ive got my processor picked out. I just need to know the best motherboard (p67 h67, all gibberish to me). Here is what i have. All I need to know is whats a good price / performance MOBO, and is it compatible with my components.

The CPU im looking to buy : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115074

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277 (Might upgrade that too)

CASE: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146060 (LOVE this thing)

GPU : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102908 ( A little outdated.. Might need to upgrade.)

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371020

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. If their is anything else i can do to my build that will help me greatly. Please chime in and let me know. While im satisfied with how it is. the CPU i have really has to go. Thanks!!!

For a decent, low cost mobo with all the features that you need, I'd go with the ASRock Z68 Pro3 for $100 AR. The 6850 isn't really all that outdated, but it certainly isn't the fastest card out there. Something like a 6950 2GB would be a big jump in graphics performance and would not require a PSU upgrade.

Awesome. I looked at the sticky and saw that their is a i5 2500k with patriot 8GB ram for $250. Id it with the extra cash?

The i5 2500K is only worth it other the i5 2400 if you plan to OC above 4GHz (i.e. the limit of the i5 2400's partially locked multiplier). The extra RAM could be worth it, but only if you find yourself running into memory limitations with your current 4GB kit.

I don't plan on any over clocking. And the only reason the ram came up is that its $30 for double my current ram. Thanks for the help again fenn. Going to oder my new mobo CPU and ram in the morning. Thanks!
