Looking for hardware monitoring tool for ancient Dell

I got my old Dell 800MHz box up and running today. The OEM HSF died long ago, so I slapped the HSF that came w/a 1GHz TBird on there (about 33% larger than the OEM Dell one)...it's loud as heck...so I unplugged the fan.

Before you yell, the Dell case is really small; the PS fan is the only one in there, but it's intake is right on top of the CPU...PS fan is a high-rpm model...good airflow.

Anyway, the box is stable and the HS feels only warm to the touch. Both good signs.

Still, I'm curious as to what my temps are. Neither MBM nor Speedfan support this chipset (Intel 810e). I haven't looked, but I don't think this Intel CA810 mobo has a Winbond chip on it...is that the only chip that supports monitoring?

Any ideas?

ps
I have a Shuttle mobo that supports this CPU...but I have no $$$ for a new case/ps/right now....that's why I plugged the CPU/memory into the old Dell box.

Thanks, but CPU-Z is a CPU speed/FSB/memory monitoring program. :)

I need a HARDWARE monitoring proggy, like MBM... just wondering if anyone else has an ancient PC like this one and has gotten something to work.

MBM has a listing for "Intel CA810" which is exactly the board I have. When you expand the listing it says "Not Supported." If it's not supported, why list it in the first place?

Heh, thanks. Yeah, Dell BIOSes suck eggs. OEM = Don't touch anything, don't try to change anything b/c you can't!!! I just remembered that I have an old Antec PS and case in the closet...it's loud though....I may make the swap to the Shuttle 815 chipset motherboard that has monitoring.

It's probably the case that that board has no support for monitoring anything. MB monitoring is only a few years old.

Thanks, Viper96720. I checked that out already. My Dell still has the service tag on it.

It's so old that Dell doesn't even offer Chipset drivers for XP. Intel does, though. :)

Thanks, lordbob99; very much appreciated, but it was a no-go. This Dell is truly a POS.
