gosh, so many peeps just dont know what techno is.

Well its not techno, but its mostly big beat...

(though it would be a great service to me, as well as many many others im sure, if someone could list all the different genres and give one example of a textbook song, cuz I really have no idea what most of the different genres are)

(edit: also, realize most people use the word techno to mean the same as electronic music)

i believe sven vath is a techno dj, and that he's pretty good at it, also Kozz is supposed to be pretty good too, but his tracks are probably hard to find.

Crystal Method is far from techno.

Download a song by DJ Visage called "The Return". It's good techno. Also Darude - "Sandstorm". DJ Skribble - "Zombie Nation" is also cool. That's the song they always play at the Pittsburgh Penguins games.

My friends use the term techno to refer to electronic music, but they only know techno to be the crapy dance stuff. Could you or somebody give me a short list of the different genres of electronic music and some good songs that represent that genre.
If you like chemical brothers stuff then I recomend that you get
mirwais - disco science.
