looking for great gaming lcd possibly acer 24"

anandtech buyers guide recommends the AL2416Wd as the monitor to buy. I was reading some reviews on newegg and everyone loved it except for one person that said its refresh rates were too low and caused the screen to look choppy in games. So what are my other options for a gaming lcd, or is this still the monitor to get and that guy didnt no what he was talking about? thank you
 
I think you can get something better. I never owned an Acer LCD, but I owned 2 CRT and they both crapped out on me after 1.5 years. From my experience and the people that I talked to they are good products at first but they have a short-life expectancy. If you're in the 24 inch zone you should take a look at a Dell. If budget is the problem take a look at the Viewsonic 19inch LCD from the hot deals section. Zipzoomfly is selling them for 299.99 after rebate and the monitor is advertised as 2 ms, so that's thumbs up for gaming. Hope this helps.
 
ah that monitor looked good until i looked at its awful dot pitch! Damn I hate this I can not find a perfect lcd
 
Have you check out the dell Ultrasharp 24" widescreen yet? It is pretty nice spec wise. i think it is 1100 w/3yr warrenty... too much for me


but yeah there is no such thing of a perfect LCD 🙁
 
that says 12ms response time i wonder what the ghosting is like on that. Wonder where I can find the refresh rates at different resolutions for these monitors?
 
Generally anything under 16ms is fine. The 2405 got some great reviews. If you search up some of the AT users here, most of them praise it.
