Hello all,

My g/f has been playing games with me for awhile on my old Dell laptop with 8600mgt. Well it just started to die and I ended up upgrading my desktop with a Haswell Mini ITX system so she could use my old setup for gaming. Right now she's running

AMD X4 955 at 3.8GHZ
4GB DDR3 1600
500GB WD Black HDD
19" 1440x900 monitor
Corsair CX400w single rail psu
An old Nvidia 9400gt

Obviously the bottleneck is the Graphics as I pulled my 660 ti for my new rig. I'm looking to spend under $155 to upgrade her graphics. I was lookin at the 650ti but most say the 7850 has about a 20% edge on it for the same price. So now I'm looking at the 2 cards below, a 7770 for $109 and a 7850 for $155. Keep in mind we are not planning on upgrading anything else on this computer for awhile. Right now she plays Dayz, Borderlands, GW2, The Secret World, State of Decay, and she wants to be able to play games on med-high for the foreseeable future. I'm looking for a card that I won't have to upgrade in a year. She's not used to playing games over 25fps on anything over medium so I just convinced her she's been living in the dark ages all this time.

At 1440 x 900 I actually think the 7770 would be good enough. That said, for 50 00 more I think you should go for the 7850 as well. It gives you some extra margin for future games, or if you decide to upgrade the monitor.

The 7850 was a good choice,i had one from Msi a TF3 2gb model and that card was awesome,i had a overclock to 1050 core and that thing flew even more and at 1280x1024 which is identical to 1440x900 performance wise my old monitors resolution the thing rocked and ran incredibly cool despite my less then good pc case.

Some bad electrical in my old house i used to live in took that out with a mobo and memory.:( Miss that 7850,hope you and your gf enjoy your 7850 as much as i enjoyed mine.:D
