Hey Daz,
Shotgun posting is frowned on here...

Are you sure the X-Finity is even worth $10. ? I wouldn't recommend an Ultra product to my worst enemy...

Caveat emptor!

Look for the SLK3000b near the bottom.

Good cheap computing.....
You save maybe $7 over the provantage deal.

How do you figure $7 Howard?

I see $42 shipped for the 3000b and $15 AR shipped for the psu = $57 shipped AR.

Edit: Nevermind, I was looking at the wrong item, either way you go is a good deal...

None of those review sites are up to my standards of thoroughness and JG works for Ultra - hardly objective...

I do second Galvanized's recommendation. AOpen makes some nice cases and they usually include decent rebranded Fortron PSUs. IIRC, mWave recently had their top aluminum case at an excellent price.

How about this case to go with that X-Finity power supply. You order both and pay $100 + tax with free shipping. After the two mail-in rebates, you come out having spent about $25-28(depending on your tax rate) for both the case and power supply.

And I'll second the notion that the Ultra X-Connect power supplies are questionable, but I have heard good things about the X-Finity. Also, Radio Shack's before-rebate price on that power supply is the lowest price on Pricegrabber. With the rebate, it's a steal. I'm half tempted to order the power supply and case for a future build.

I'm not really sure what the OP's exact requirements are. He just wants a case an PSU that will function for his system. For me, price isn't everything, but price when compared to performance is very important. If you compare the X-Finity for $10 to an $80 power supply, can one really say that the increased performance of the more expensive power supply is worth the extra money?

If the OP were going with SLI or crossfire, then that would be a different story. I think for the specs he listed, the X-Finity will be more than adequate. If he wanted to spend an extra $70 on his system, then he would probably have 2GB of RAM than 1.

Last night I spotted a couple of YeongYang (http://www.yycase.com) cases hiding out under the Rosewill case listings on Newegg. I guess it's a rebadge deal. IAC, they are a lot of case for the money. On preliminary evaluation, they could fit right in with my current top budget casitude picks. Perhaps knock the SLK3000-B right off the chart. 120mm f/r, rubber bushings in HDD slides, top mounted ports panel, one has a door with 270 degree swing, mostly toolless. They are sufficiently different from the other Rosewill case offerings that you won't miss them. If it wasn't for the sidesaddle HDD bays, my order would already be in!
