I'm comfortable with Active@ software because I've been using it for years, it's very intuitive, and it just plain works. I'm currently using their Active@ Partition Recovery Toolkit enterprise version. It's the professional package with the addition of a Windows-based boot disk for creating bootable CD/DVD and USB media. I have the (very expensive) unlimited license because I use it in my business, but with a personal license its under sixty bucks.
Glad you're pleased, but let's ease up on the prophecy a bit.
@ OP, Recuva is simple and very effective if you're in Windows. If not or you're unable to boot then TestDisk. Never pay for such a silly piece of binary software.
