Looking for good broadband service near Dallas

My parents and my brother recently moved to Denton (30min north of Dallas) and are looking to have broadband internet. The only one we've seen in the paper is Charter Pipeline which provides 3Mbps download and a mediocre 256kbps upload. However, it seems a bit expensive ($50/month) after the promotional three month period.
