I don't know too much about mobos, so I'm looking for some help in my quest for an upgrade. I have an XP 1400 chip, with a 400W power supply. RAM isn't really an issue cause I plan to just buy new RAM. But if there are any good DDR / SDRAM combo boards, I do have 512mb of pc133 I could throw in there, until I get my DDR. So what brands are good, and which ones should I stray from? I'm looking to keep it around the $100 - $125 price range. Any help would rock. Thanks.

Your best bet is to get a nForce2 board. I think leadtek and Epox have a cheap one for your price range. Abit has theirs for $138 at newegg.com.

But skip the sdram thought and just get the DDR

Yeah, definately get DDR and not old fasioned plain old SDRAM. I would say get an Nforce2 chipset motherboard. If that's too much, a KT333 or KT400 motherboard ain't bad in my opinion. I heard about some incompatibilities with VIA chips though, but I've never experienced anything like it.
