I'm trying to put a wireless network together and would like to research Access Points but not having much luck. I would appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Aironet.com used to have a lot of information on 802.11(a&b) standards, but it's been a while(4yrs) as I am now well versed. What kind of information are you looking for exactly, I'm sure anyone in the forums will be happy to answer specific and sometimes generalized questions about the tech, and products involved. If this is your first time setting up a wireless network, I would suggest going with The Linksys equipment, they have good range(100+ft in most situations), and have very good instructions. Almost anyone can figure out how to create a reletivly secure and functional wireless network with their equipment. If you want more options/best stuff, go with Aironet or Ornico products, they are the cutting edge in the tech, but are quite pricey concidering the little differnces from them and Linksys.

To be fair I am not saying that Linksys is worse then others, but for sure it is not better.

When it comes to Low End Entry Level Wireless, if one wants to help find what is the most inexpensive on Sale/Rebate, and post it. It is better help then having Linksys in a macro.

Same problem I had with two previous linksys wireless routers. Flashes didn't help those, defect? The third one after one flash worked fine.

My SMC7004AWBR has been great. My boss has the linksys and had to put it on UPS because every time he had a power outage or hiccup he had to plug/unplug it; the SMC seems a bit more tolerant of that kind of thing.

Frequently I would be browsing the internet and then all of a sudden my connection dies, I try to ping the router and nothing. Then as soon as I pull the power to the router and plug it back in everything starts working again. Does this happen to anyone else? Anyone know of a fix? I have a linksys BEFSR81.
