Looking for free, easy HD cloning software

I've got a simple situation: a 10GB HDD that I have spend hours (more like days) getting just the way I want it. I need more storage, and 2 hard drives won't work. I need to clone the old stuff onto the new one (files as well as OS, settings, apps, etc), I just need the extra storage on a bigger drive.

Google searches turn up nothing but HDClone and some other junk. From reviews, sounds like I should avoid it.

First question, what is some good freeware?

Next question, can somebody quickly walk me through the process? I'd appreciate it.

Thanks! -Joe

The manufacturer of the new hard drive should provide software to you (via their website) to perform this kind of operation.

Thanks for the tips, I'll check those out. I got the HDD from a thrift store, so no luck on any included software.

Both drives are WD.

Thanks again!

I know Western Digital has free software
you can use to move over to the new drive.
Seagate should as well. TruImage will work
but it is a large download and would need to
be put on a cd

You can also try this Free (good review) program

http://www.pcdistrict.com/xxclone-prod24843.html

Or this one from Western Digital

http://support.wdc.com/downloa...?cxml=n&pid=999&swid=1

All of those applications and many more can be found on the ultimate boot cd.

http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

Download it from Major Geeks

That is true. But it also is easily downloaded for free at the drive maker's websites.
