My last three builds have all been AMD, but I think I'm ready to go Intel CD2.

Here's what I'm thinking:

* CPU - e6750 on July 22 $183

* MB - Right now it looks like I'll go with this:
ECS NF650iSLIT-A LGA775 because a bud is giving a smoking deal on it.

* RAM - Picked up this OCZ Special Ops at Fry's on the 4th for $59 AR.

I'm looking for a do-it-all type rig: some gaming, Photoshop, DVD encoding, etc. The memory I've already picked up (have always liked OCZ stuff), so I'm pretty much set with that. My thinking on the CPU is to get the most I can afford, and with the new pricing, the 6750 looks like my sweet spot. The motherboard is where I'm most confused - so many options. The ECS board is one I can get cheap, and it didn't review too badly today here on AT. I'm open to suggestions here.

I've never OC'ed (I usually run everything @ stock and forget about it) but wouldn't mind trying a mild overclock to really maximize performance. From what I've read, OC'ing the CD2s is fairly easy and they give great results.

You might want to consider going with the Q6600 for $244 if you are serious about Photoshop and encoding, this could double rendering and encoding speed, but will run warmer than the E6750, thus having slightly lower OCing potential, but if you are only doing mild OCing then this shouldn't matter.

Only buy that mobo if you are getting a REALLY good deal for it, otherwise get a P35 board. They outperform the 650i in most categories.

Thumbs up on RAM.

Yes, Core 2's are pretty easy to OC.

Have fun with the build,
