    Hey guys,

I am looking for feedback here. I created an iPhone app that reminds you when a movie is about to be released in theater or DVD (its a paid app). The reminder happens through a push notificaiton.

Now, the overall vision of this is to enable it to aggregate all sources of media, like Amazon, RedBox etc.

If you wanted us to add another service, which would it be and why? We are thinking about Redbox where you get a notification when a movie is available at your local RedBox? We think this would be a really cool feature, would love to get feedback.

The app is called Kinotify and if you want to see some screenshots you can check out our website. www.kinotify.com

Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.

    1) Maybe a news aggregator would be useful so you can select "Star Wars Episode 7" among several movies and then have a "news stream" that'll give you any updates regarding movies you're looking forward to (actor announcements, final release datem cancellations, etc...). You want something that'll make a person open up the app from time to time and to follow some more stuff.
    2) It looks like you have to know what movie to look for. What about an "latest events" where new movies are announced and then you can start following it.
    3) I don't suppose you care to start enabling social networking? Have # of people following a movie and maybe comments?
    - And then with the above you can sort by "most followed" or something.

I haven't paid for it yet so excuse me if you already have some of those features.

Oh, and yeah, why is it called Kinotify?

Edit Redbox would be nice too. I didn't get to watch several movie releases and so it would be nice to know if it got to DVD in a Redbox nearby so I could go get it there. So do you have a "summary" page which sorts all the movies that you were interested in order of release date. All movies that are already released you can:

    1) Watched it
    2) DVD notify instead
    3) Delete/Don't Care

Or something, just three little buttons you can click on each item on the list.

Now some of these ideas may be terrible but it's my lunch break so I have time to shotgun out some ideas.

It not only notifies you about new movies but also next of kin if you are injured traveling to or from the theatre.

    Hi guys,

Thanks for the replies. Its called Kinotify because Kino means theater in a few languages. At the same time you can ask why is Fandango called Fandango ;). We wanted to come up with a brand able name and when you watch a movie you can 'Kinotify' it or bookmark it so you don't miss it.

Thanks for the suggestions. We want this to be super easy to use. We will keep these in mind as we continue development.

Knowing if a movie has become available on streaming services such as Hulu or Netflix streaming would be useful. Rotten Tomato score maybe?

Also, how about links to torrents when they become available? <kidding :)

Netflix notification would be useful too I'd think. Also if you go one step further and notify when movies and such go on sale locally or online.

I can't think of anything else.

Hmmmm notifying when things go on sale. That's interesting..... maybe I could throw in some in-app purchasing as well of said DvD or whatever.
